With a voice as passionate and powerful as the lyrics behind them and a drive as unstoppable as a freight train, Alberta-based singer songwriter Renee Malo is pure, raw Country Music Talent.

Having what one newspaper referred to as being “born to shine in the limelight”, Renee proved herself a talent from an early age, creating her first demo at the age of 12 and regularly singing the national anthem at local hockey and football games. Later in 2012, at the age of 20, her talents were noticed by CMT Canada producers, who chose her to be a contestant on the “Big in a Small Town” competition. There her music was put up before such world-class judges as Casey Clark and Emerson Drive’s Brad Mates, who were blown away by Renee’s audition video. Renee did incredibly well, being placed in the Top 5 of her region and making it in to the Top 30 for the entire country.

The success that came with the competition brought with it the interest of Eddie Gore of Insomnia Studios in Nashville, who encouraged Renee to come to the Country capital of the world to create songs with some of the industry’s most talented songwriters and to record what would become her debut album “Can You Hear Me Now”. Her first single of the same name, co-written with Danny Myrick (Jason Aldean’s “She’s Country, Tim McGraw’s “Truck Yeah”), reached considerable radio success, proving what many had already known about her energetic and powerful abilities.

Along with her passion for music is her commitment to share the love of music with others and to inspire change in the world through it. She has worked with the Legacy Children’s Foundation as a musical mentor and her regular appearances on fundraisers for the likes of Blind Children and the SPCA have helped open people’s hearts in to making a difference on this planet.

Never satisfied with staying in one place for long, Renee has been actively touring with her Band for the last few years as a Country Rock Band. She has been collaborating once again with the cream of the industry’s songwriting crop. In the meantime, she is all set to release her second single to radio “Biggest Truck”. Co-written with Nashville songwriter Daryl Burgess, “Biggest Truck” evokes the image of the tough, no-nonsense country girl who knows exactly what she wants.

With vocal talent that has been compared to that of Miranda Lambert’s, and immaculate guitar abilities that have been likened to Jason Aldean, Renee Malo is a sassy, no-nonsense double threat who is taking the country world by storm and showing no signs of slowing down.
